We’re having a heat wave here in Boston! Doesn’t bug me, as I would MUCH rather have heat than cold. But the best part (yes, the BEST) is the icon on my Firefox ForecastFox:
So Loobner came to Boston Friday for work stuff this week. I’m not 100% certain what it is she does, but it seems to involve a lot of parties and drinking and stuff. But anyway, I offered to let her stay at my house over the weekend. She was initially worried that we would kidnap her and lock her away in the basement. Silly girl. We don’t have a basement!
We do, however, have a root cellar:
Dudes, this thing scares even me! Looks like the Blair Witch is down there with Hannibal Lector. The Bean told me to change the lightbulb while I was taking a picture but there is no frickin’ WAY I’m going down there! It’s dark and you know those stairs are gonna break just like the ones Ben went down to move the island on LOST. Besides, Lisa was holding the door, so…no. But anyway, as if we would kidnap you, Loobner! (She’s WAY too old!)
After a lovely Saturday, we arranged to have a tweet-up with Tamar Wallace (@justtamar) at the Cafè on the Common in Waltham Sunday morning. Tamar, despite her initial trepidation that we were going to jump her into @TwitchGirlGang, decided to relax and it was lovely meeting her. This pic is from before we pulled out the shivs.
Whilst conversing, Tamar asked me why I call Lisa “Loobner.” It never occurred to me that this wasn’t common knowledge, but it’s based on Lisa Loobner from the old SNL skit with Gilda Radner and Bill Murray. Loobner calls me Liz Lemon based on Tina Fey’s character on 30 Rock. Got that? Mmmk.
So it turned out to be about 350,000 degrees (Farenheit) this weekend, so we decided to spend the rest of the day Sunday on the coast and headed up to lovely Rockport, MA. It really was a beautiful day and Rockport’s a bit touristy so we had a good time.
Here’s Loobner posing on the rocks. That little girl INSISTED on being in the picture, no matter how much Lisa kicked and screamed at her:
Loobner wanted a shot of me on the rocks, too. Never listen to Loobner!
We even stopped in to see some of Loobner’s family:
All in all, a successful weekend. What did YOU do this weekend?
